Club History The Upper Canada Judo Club was formed in February, 2002 by Mr. D. Burt. Our students have won medals at all levels of competition including provincials and nationals. Black belt instructors are highly experienced and NCCP certified. The emphasis of our club is competitive judo, however, we also offer recreational programs. The Upper Canada Judo Club is very proud of our blend of juniors, seniors and families. Many families include children, parents and even grandparents participating together. News Past Events July 6 2010 This year at the Canadian Junior Nationals in Lethbridge, The Upper Canada Judo Club claimed the #1 Dojo honors brcause of the success of the team that we sent to the tournament. July 4 2010 Upper Canada would like to congratulate Youssef Youssef, Johnny Nagy and Jonah Burt for Qualifying for the Junior Pan-American Championships which will be held in Florida this year. As well Youssef Youssef qualified for the Junior World Championships held in Morocco. July 4 2010 The Canadian Junior Nationals were held in Lethbridge, Alberta this year and Upper Canada came home with 5 Gold, 1 Silver, 3 Bronze and 3 5th place finishes. June 18 2010 Upper Canada would like to congratulate Gary Madgett, Johnny Nagy and Mehgan Nagy on their recent promotion to Shodan. June 10, 2010 Upper Canada sends 11 athletes and takes home 9 medals including 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze at the Senior National Championships. June 3, 2010 Upper Canada sends 6 athletes and takes home 3 medals at the Senior National Championships. May 26, 2010 Upper Canada sends 15 athletes takes home 13 medals, including 9 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze at the Morris Cup. April 10, 2010 Upper Canada athletes take 17 medals, including 9 Gold, 7 Silver and 1 Bronze at the Peel Judo Championship and Ontario Junior team qualifier. April 10, 2010 Congratulations to Youssef Youssef for placing 3rd at the Pan-Am Judo Championships in El Salvador. March 28, 2010 Congratulations to Seif Youssef for placing 2nd at the Ontario Senior Qualifier. March 20-21, 2010 Congratulations to Brianna McCracken and Youssef Youssef who competed in an International Shiai in Germany. March 20, 2010 Congratulations to Zachary and Jonah Burt for wining a silver and 2 bronzes at the Ocean State Judo Championships. Feb 27-28, 2010 Congratulations to Philip McCristall, Brianna McCracken, Jonah Burt, Zachary Burt and Erin Opaleychuk for successfully completing the NCCP 1 coaching course. July 3-5, 2009 . Upper Canada finished 4th in Canada and 1st in Ontario in the medal standings. Briana McCracken has qualified to represent Canada at the World Judo Championships in Budapest Hungary in August. Sensei Dave Burt has been named to the coaching staff. Congratulations Briana, Dave and the rest of our athletes! March 28, 2009 Upper Canada athletes take 13 medals, including 6 gold at the RMC Kingston judo provincial qualifiers. See the results page. November 22, 2008 The Upper Canada Judo Club hosted a clinic with Jason Morris, 5x US Olympian, silver medalist at the 1992 Olympics and bronze medalist at the 1993 World Championships. July 5-6, 2008 Upper Canada athletes take 4 medals at the Canadian Junior Nationals, including 3 silver and 1 gold. See the Results page. Briana McCracken wins outstanding Junior Female Award.
